ABOUT THE COLLEGE

MANGAYARKARASI COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE FOR WOMEN was established in 1997 by our benevolent founder, Amarar Pitchiah Pillai, a great philanthropist and a visionary of the 20th century. Ours is a fantabulous campus located in a pollution free, pleasant environment conducive for learning. Our college has been Re-Accredited by NAAC with “B” Grade during the academic year 2018-2019. The management is thoroughly dedicated to education. We hone the skills of young women and prepare them for life. For the past two decades, we have been offering quality education to under-privileged students at affordable fees. Our Campus is well connected to all prominent places in Madurai. MCW Campus provides a great ambiance. The infrastructure is one of the best in the region. It provides individual office spaces equipped with high-speed internet connectivity, high end laboratories with Wi-Fi facilities, ample meeting and discussion rooms, library, etc. to provide world class quality education to our aspiring students from rural background.

ABOUT THE CAMPUS

MCW is situated on the bank of River Vaigai in Paravai, Madurai, just 10 mins drive from the Madurai Arappalayam bus Terminal and very well connected to a prominent place in Madurai. MCW Campus provides a Great Ambiance. The Infrastructure will be one of the best in the region. It provides co-working space, individual office spaces equipped with high-speed internet connectivity, High end laboratories with Wi-Fi facilities, Ample meeting and discussion rooms, library, etc. to meet world class quality education to our Rural Area Aspiring students.

“Mangayarkarasi College is dedicated to the cause of education for women and it endeavors to develop their finest potentialities according to their capacities and thereby prepares them to take their respective places in domestic, social and national environment.”

Vision and Mission of the institution is expressed to the students during the introductory session, orientation program, bridge course and teaching-learning process. The great ideals, mission and objectives of the institution have been conveyed to the stakeholders by conducting awareness programs through prospectus, pamphlets, folders, CDs, posters & flex. Because, “Actions speak louder than words”.

To exhibit our college vision & mission and achievements we make use of ICT tools. These are presented through power point to our stakeholders. Parents–Teachers meeting is organized regularly at least four times a year – twice per semester.

The great visionary and philanthropist Thiru. K. Pitchiah Pillai and Kalyani Ammal’s desire is to raise the Women Literacy Rate, they served for the cause of school education well over forty-four years and extended it to collegiate education. To continue the lineage, “Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women” was established by Mangayarkarasi Educational Trust on 1st Sept.1997.

Our Management strives to equip our students with all essential inputs to achieve success in a rapidly changing and deeply interconnected world.

We are committed to work for women empowerment and enable them shine as “Sheroses” of the world. be it academics, extra-curricular or co-curricular activities, our students have proven their potential every time. Building on the strong foundation values of the college, I invite our students to come and share our vision of excellence established through the didactic values of persistence and compassion. As a whole, we educate our students to remain sensitive to social responsibilities and ethical choices, so that they respond to those around them with care and kindness.

Education builds character! We strive for the holistic development of the Students. Besides, the regular curriculum, our faculty imparts skills that are essential for personality development and economic upliftment. We envisage an all-English environment campus to hone the communication skills of the rural girl student.

A plethora of clubs has been established to encourage students. Eco-Club, Placement Cell, ED Cell are few such cells that assist the students to build their leadership skills.

We plan to help our students attain financial independence. This serves our motto properly “You do We Care”

Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women established in 1997 with the noble idea of educating under privileged women most probably women from rural pockets of Madurai. Located in Paravai, sprawling across eighty-five acres in a pristine environment our institution aims at offering quality education to all our students. We strongly believe in the fact that empowered women assist in emancipating the society and we have been rendering yeoman service in the education sector for the past twenty-two years with this motto.

I pray Goddess Meenakshi, the reigning deity of Madurai to bestow all her blessings on our students and faculty.
