ICT (INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY) SERVICE
INCORPORATING ICT IN LIBRARY SERVICES
- Our library has enhanced its services over the last Decade, facilities through automated workflow for with all its possible new and emerging Information and Communication Technology (ICT). An integrated set of services for capturing, cataloguing, storing, searching, protecting, retrieving and also for data entry, transaction and serial control etc., is in use.
LIBRARY AUTOMATION
- Library Administration is fully automated by adopting the ICT information and Communication Technology.
1. NIRMALS
- Software runs on number one RDBMS as database server.
- It has Low Exit value, ISO standard, RFID Compliant, International Standard Bibliographic and design for user friendly interface, ensures portability, Compatibility and Scalability
2. LIBNET
- Internet centre with 65 systems
3. MAIN SERVER
- Dual Processor – Higher end
- 18.5” TFT Color monitor Lenovo
- 4GB PC3-106600 ECC DDR3 RAM
- 146GB 10K Rpm 5 GB SAS Hard Disk Drive
4. ONLINE SEARCH
- To facilitate online search the Library sources and Data search are higher
5. NETWORKING
- Networking with 5 systems for different functions like acquisition, data entry, transaction, searching, serial control and retrieving
6. WEBOPAC
- Library resources shared by all Departments through WEBOPAC
7. REPROGRAPHY
- Reprography facility is available in the Library. This facility is available at a nominal cost of 60 paise for exposure
8. INTER-LIBRARY LOAN (ILL)
- Library is linked with Developing Library Network (DELNET) & The American Library (AIRC) database (union catalogue of books, current Periodicals, Theses, Dissertation etc.)
9. SOFT COPIES
- Library supports soft copy submission of Theses, Dissertations and Projects
10. INTERNET
- Free Internet access from 8 a.m. to 5.pm
- 40 Hours of only subject related free Internet access for UG Students per year for Document search
- E – Journals access via Sage, JGATE and N-LIST – INFLIBNET (“National Library and Information services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content”. The programme is funded by the MHRD to extend access to selected e-resources under UGC.)
